Description

Sesame garlic ramen noodles blend Asian flavors with comforting textures. Savory sauce and tender noodles create a quick, satisfying meal you can easily prepare at home.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 2 packages instant ramen noodles (3 ounces/85 grams), seasoning packets discarded
  • 1 tablespoon (15 milliliters) butter
  • 1 tablespoon (15 milliliters) sesame oil
  • 3.5 tablespoons (52.5 milliliters) garlic, minced

Sauce Ingredients:

  • 3.5 tablespoons (52.5 milliliters) soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons (45 milliliters) brown sugar
  • 3 teaspoons (15 milliliters) shallot ginger chili oil
  • 2 tablespoons (30 milliliters) reserved ramen water

Garnish Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons (45 milliliters) green onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon (5 milliliters) roasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Prepare ramen noodles according to package directions, carefully reserving 2 tablespoons of cooking liquid just before draining.
  2. In a skillet, melt butter with sesame oil over medium-high temperature, gently sautéing minced garlic for approximately two minutes without allowing it to brown.
  3. Remove skillet from heat and whisk in reserved cooking water, soy sauce, and brown sugar until sugar completely dissolves.
  4. Return skillet to heat, toss noodles into sauce mixture and gently coat for one minute.
  5. Finish dish by drizzling chili oil over noodles and garnishing with freshly chopped scallions and toasted sesame seeds, ensuring even distribution of ingredients.

Notes

  • Noodle Texture Tip Slightly undercook ramen to prevent mushiness when mixing with sauce.
  • Water Wisdom Save pasta water to help sauce cling perfectly to noodles, creating a silky coating.
  • Garlic Caution Watch heat carefully to prevent burning, which turns garlic bitter and ruins delicate sauce flavor.
  • Customize Heat Adjust chili oil quantity based on personal spice tolerance, allowing personalized flavor experience.
